Psychic children provide a whole new challenge to parents, as they are discovering the seen world, they are also discovering the unseen world. This can not only lead to some odd experiences, but also to what may be perceived as a lack of focus due to over stimulation. While there are no hard and fast rules to how to raise a psychic child, I have some tips for you, as I once was one myself. Firstly, the big challenge is protection. The psychic child not only detects the unseen, but also attracts it. Spirits will often flock to people who are psychically sensitive as their skills are like a spiritual beacon. They seek help, and are generally harmless aside from being a little disconcerting. There is however more negative spirits and entities who would seek to manipulate or even damage the susceptible mind of a child. To begin with, all people are more vulnerable when in a dream state. Protect your child's room with pieces of black tourmaline placed in the four corners of the room and over the windows and door. This will create a protective barrier around the edges of the room and at the entry points. This can be further boosted by adding a chiastolite to the centre of the room, to spread positive energy. Smudge the room and house regularly to remove any further negative energy. A tourmaline can also be carried about the body, preferably with a piece of black kyanite, which helps to prevent the bearer from having a bad experience, psychically speaking. This will help them be protected as they go about their daily business, and can be worn discreetly so as not to clash with school uniforms etc.
Secondly, reassure the child that they are ok, a little different perhaps, but certainly not abnormal. There are many psychic children out there, all with unique skills and skill levels. Childhood is a time of learning and discovery, which can be overwhelming also. Add to that the fact that the psychic child may often be perceived as odd or have troubles fitting in and the burden becomes greater. Give them rose quartz to help teach them to love themselves and develop their confidence using carnelian or aquamarine. If your child is being bullied, whether it relates to their skills or not, Botswana agate can help repair the damage done. Give them support as needed, however let them come to you for it. Often psychic children are old souls, and can perceive a push for support as stifling. Just let it always be known that they can come to you with anything, and more importantly, that you believe them. Seek help yourself when needed also, as it can be overwhelming as a parent, and you can then give good answers to all those questions you are likely getting.
Thirdly, lastly, and very importantly, do not try to repress their skills completely. You can certainly work to tone them down a little, especially if your child is undergoing very negative experiences, however total suppression will often result in severely negative consequences. People have had psychic "explosions" where sometimes their skill express very suddenly and aggressively, which can be highly traumatising. Alternatively, the combination of suppressed skills with suppressed or varying emotions can cause a psychokinetic (PK) manifestation. Yes, the movie Poltergeist really got something almost right. It's certainly unlikely to ever be as aggressive as in the movie, but a PK manifestation can certainly make things unpleasant and can be hard to clear out. If you suspect that you already have one, I would recommend contacting a physical medium immediately. Psychic children can be a challenge, but are also very much a blessing. I encourage you to write in with any further questions or comments you may have.
